Note: Our hot plates are offered with milled-flat cast aluminum heater tops or solid ceramic heater tops. Aluminum is best for working with solids directly on the heater surface. Aluminum heats more evenly across the plate surface and is more rugged than ceramic. The ceramic heater tops heat and cool faster and are recommend for use when heating solutions in a vessel. Ceramic tops resist chemical spills much better than aluminum tops.
